• Natural Raspberry Ketones: Popularity and Effectiveness

    Evolution Slimming Ltd
There are so many kind of Raspberry Ketones out there you can choose from but most popular is a natural Raspberry Ketones. So here we will talk about natural Raspberry Ketones.

    What is Raspberry Ketones?

Raspberry Ketones has grown to be one of the most popular weight loss supplements with over a hundred thousand users in the U.K alone. Its popularity can be attributed to the fact that this particular supplement has received countless praises and testimonies from previous users on how amazing the results were. Still, for one to fully understand and appreciate the effectiveness of this weight loss supplement, it is always best to know how it works.

Consisting mainly of Ketone, a fruit compound that has been used for years in cosmetics and the food industry owing to its pleasant aroma, this Raspberry Ketone supplement works to aid in weight loss through various ways. All in all, the fact that this supplement is completely natural is probably part of the reason why so many people are willing to incorporate it in their weight loss programs

While sellers saying that you don’t need to diet or exercise when taking Raspberry Ketones I recommend both – it will improve your weight loss process and make it quick. If you want to loose weight and be healthy you need to act and think like healthy people – eat healthy food and nourish your body with exercises (your body was made for movements not for sitting all day).

You hear a lot about living a healthy lifestyle, but what does that mean? In general, a healthy person doesn’t smoke, is at a healthy weight, eats healthy and exercises. Sounds simple, doesn’t it?

The trick to healthy living is making small changes…taking more steps, adding fruit to your cereal, having an extra glass of water…these are just a few ways you can start living healthy without drastic changes.

    Exercise

One of the biggest problems in America today is lack of activity. We know it’s good for us but avoid it like the plague either because we’re used to being sedentary or afraid that exercise has to be vigorous to be worth our time. The truth is, movement is movement and the more you do, the healthier you’ll be. Even moderate activities like chores, gardening and walking can make a difference.

Just adding a little movement to your life can:

    • Reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke and diabetes
    • Improve joint stability
    • Increase and improve range of movement
    • Help maintain flexibility as you age
    • Maintain bone mass
    • Prevent osteoporosis and fractures
    • Improve mood and reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression
    • Enhance self esteem
    • Improve memory in elderly people
    • Reduce stress

So, even if you opt for small changes and a more modest weight loss, you can see the benefits are still pretty good. One study has found that just a 10% weight reduction helped obese patients reduce blood pressure, cholesterol and increase longevity.

Simple Ways to Move Your Body

You can start the process of weight loss now by adding a little more activity to your life. If you’re not ready for a structured program, start small. Every little bit counts and it all adds up to burning more calories.

    • Turn off the TV. Once a week, turn off the TV and do something a little more physical with your family. Play games, take a walk…almost anything will be more active than sitting on the couch.
    • Walk more. Look for small ways to walk more. When you get the mail, take a walk around the block, take the dog for an extra outing each day or walk on your treadmill for 5 minutes before getting ready for work.
    • Do some chores. Shoveling snow, working in the garden, raking leaves, sweeping the floor…these kinds of activities may not be ‘vigorous’ exercise, but they can keep you moving while getting your house in order.
    • Pace while you talk. When you’re on the phone, pace around or even do some cleaning while gabbing. This is a great way to stay moving while doing something you enjoy.
    • Be aware. Make a list of all the physical activities you do on a typical day. If you find that the bulk of your time is spent sitting, make another list of all the ways you could move more–getting up each hour to stretch or walk, walk the stairs at work, etc.

    Eating Well

Eating a healthy diet is another part of the healthy lifestyle. Not only can a clean diet help with weight management, it can also improve your health and quality of life as you get older. You can use the new MyPlate to determine how many calories you need and what food groups you should focus on or, if you’re looking for smaller changes, you can use these tips for simple ways to change how you eat:

    • Eat more fruit. Add it to your cereal, your salads or even your dinners
    • Sneak in more veggies. Add them wherever you can–a tomato on your sandwich, peppers on your pizza, or extra veggies in your pasta sauce. Keep pre-cut or canned/frozen veggies ready for quick snacks.
    • Switch your salad dressing. If you eat full-fat dressing, switch to something lighter and you’ll automatically eat less calories.
    • Eat low-fat or fat-free dairy. Switching to skim milk or fat free yogurt is another simple way to eat less calories without having to change too much in your diet.
    • Make some substitutes. Look through your cabinets or fridge and pick 3 foods you eat every day. Write down the nutritional content and, the next time you’re at the store, find lower-calorie substitutes for just those 3 items.

Creating a healthy lifestyle doesn’t have to mean drastic changes. In fact, drastic changes almost always lead to failure. Making small changes in how you live each day can lead to big rewards, so figure out what you can to be healthy today.

  • Raspberry Ketone Benefits and Weight Loss Potential

    Evolution Slimming Ltd

People know and use Raspberry Ketone for a long time now. anyway we decided to research this product so you can look at it close is you want to try it for weight loss.

Raspberry ketone is a chemical from red raspberries (Rubus idaeus). It is most commonly used for weight loss and obesity. It is also used to increase lean body mass. Some people apply raspberry ketone to the scalp to improve hair growth.

Raspberry ketone is also used in foods, cosmetics, and other manufacturing as a fragrance or flavoring agent.

Raspberry ketone became popular for weight loss after it was mentioned on the Dr. Oz television show during the segment called “Raspberry ketone: Miracle fat-burner in a bottle” in February 2012. Even though it is touted as a “miracle” for weight loss, there is no reliable scientific evidence that it works for improving weight loss.

    How does it work?

Raspberry ketone is a chemical from red raspberries that is thought to help for weight loss. Some research in animals or in test tubes shows that it might increase some measures of metabolism. It might also affect a hormone in the body called adiponectin. However, it is important to keep in mind that there is no reliable scientific evidence that it improves weight loss when taken by people.

According to this Raspberry Ketone will help you boost your metabolism which result in weight loss. Still there is not enough research data to proof it.

Raspberry ketone is a natural phenolic compound that is the primary aroma compound of red raspberries.

    Occurrence

Raspberry ketone occurs in a variety of fruits including raspberries, cranberries and blackberries.[3] It is biosynthesized from coumaroyl-CoA.[4] Extraction of pure raspberry ketone is usually 1–4 mg per kg of raspberries.[5]

    Preparation

Since the natural abundance of raspberry ketone is very low, it is prepared industrially by a variety of methods from chemical intermediates.[6] One of the ways this can be done is through a crossed aldol-catalytic hydrogenation. In acetone and sodium hydroxide, 4-hydroxybenzaldehyde can form the α,β-unsaturated ketone. This then goes through catalytic hydrogenation to produce raspberry ketone. This method produces a 99% yield.[7]

    Uses

Raspberry ketone is used in perfumery, in cosmetics, and as a food additive to impart a fruity odor. It is one of the most expensive natural flavor components used in the food industry. The natural compound can cost as much as $20,000 per kg.[5] Synthetic raspberry ketone is cheaper, with estimates ranging from a couple of dollars per pound[8] to one fifth of the cost of natural product.[9]

    Putative health effects

Although products containing this compound are marketed for weight loss, there is no clinical evidence for this effect in humans.[10] The average estimated daily intake of dietary raspberry ketone has been estimated to be 0.42 mg/kg/day.[11] Early studies in rats looking into the potential toxicity of raspberry ketone found no effects on the body weight of rats with doses up to 100 mg/kg, 238 times greater than the estimated intake for humans or 0.01% of body weight.[11] A more recent study demonstrated that when mice were fed very high doses of raspberry ketone, up to 20 g/kg, 2% of body weight or 4761 times greater than estimated human intake, there was a statistically significant prevention of high-fat-diet-induced elevation in body weight.[12] The high dose effect is reported to stem from the alteration of lipid metabolism, increasing norepinephrine-induced lipolysis and fatty acid oxidation in cultured adipocytes.[13]

Nutritional supplement manufacturer Andrew Lessman criticized and countered sensationalized media and marketing claims about raspberry ketone’s purported weight-loss benefits and strongly cautioned against its use.[14]

    Safety

Little is known about the long term safety of raspberry ketone supplements.[15] In 1965, the US Food and Drug Administration placed raspberry ketone on generally recognized as safe (GRAS) status for the small quantities used as a food additive.[2]

    Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raspberry_ketone

And here is what some well known doctor says about it:

Research has shown that raspberry ketone can help in your weight-loss efforts, especially when paired with regular exercise and a well-balanced diet of healthy and whole foods.

Raspberry ketone is the primary aroma compound of red raspberries. This compound regulates adiponectin, a protein used by the body to regulate metabolism. Raspberry ketone causes the fat within your cells to get broken up more effectively, helping your body burn fat faster. The recommended dose is 100mg per day. To get the same benefit from the whole fruit, you’d have to consume 90 pounds of raspberries.

I watch the Dr.Oz show quite often and saw this product of Raspberry Ketones suggested as a safe and effective fat loss supplement. It is very difficult for me to just believe things that have great reviews on T.V or online, so I ordered it to try myself after a lot of research. Firstly, I needed to change my mindset before taking….they don’t work if you are not willing to work. I go to the gym three times a week and run two times a week for 4 miles. I try to eat healthy, small meals throughout the day to curb my hunger and to bring up my metabolism. I started taking the supplement on the first day, and kept to my same routine. It works as a stimulant, and helped me lose twice the weight I was losing before taking these. I had no negative side effects and I truly feel healthier (it’s a weird feeling that, but I can describe it as my body was feeling great) I’ve suggested it to some friends of mine, so we can work on it together. I realize taking new supplements can be scary because it’s so easy to be “scammed” into a product; Raspberry Ketones are the way to go though, if you are looking to lose more weight while your healthy eating habits stay the same…try this product!

  • How to Choose a Diet Plan That Works for You

I think, if you are overweight, you have tried by now at list one diet plan. Some of you probably tried few. But how to be sure that diet you choose is for you and it will be success?

Here I found pretty good article about choosing appropriate diet for you personally, so keep reading:

What kind of dieter are you? Knowing your diet personality can help you lose weight.

    WebMD Feature Archive

    By Jenny Stamos Kovacs
    Reviewed by Louise Chang, MD

A weight loss plan only works if you stay with it. And as any successful dieter can tell you, it’s much easier to lose weight and firm up when the diet plan you choose fits your lifestyle and personality. Hate to cook? You won’t last long on a diet plan better suited to budding gourmets. Living in a house full of kids and big eaters so you’re constantly surrounded by food? A weight loss plan for you will have to face the problem of snacking head on.

With any endeavor to lose weight, most women think they need to go on a diet, says Lisa Sanders, MD, a clinician-educator in primary care at Yale University and author of The Perfect Fit Diet. But that’s not exactly true. A diet is simply what you eat, which means you’re already on one. That diet either works for you so you achieve and maintain the weight you want, or it doesn’t.

The first step to weight loss satisfaction? Find your fit among these five diet personalities, and weight loss might just be easier for you.

Weight loss type 1: The support seeker

You’re the one who turns to friends and pros for answers. (If it worked for Oprah, it can work for you, right?) In college you had study buddies, shopping partners, and best friends who consoled you after miserable dates and psyched you up to try your hand at love again. You’d never have made it down the aisle without the help of a few older, wiser friends, and you couldn’t handle colic and postpartum blues without those 1 a.m. phone calls to your sister-in-law.

Your ideal diet plan. Your perfect weight loss plan involves plenty of support from women who’ve been there – sharing your battles with chocolate fudge and meeting you for late-night walks around the block. Check out weight loss programs that meet weekly for fun, camaraderie, and tips on nutrition, or go the fitness route and join an aerobics or Pilates class with a core group of members. Sessions with a personal trainer can give you regular, one-on-one help with your unique weight loss demons.

If you’re a stellar follower, but not so good at coming up with methods yourself, choose a diet plan that offers sample meals and grocery lists, says Suzanne Farrell, MS, RD, a spokesperson for the American Dietetic Association and owner of Cherry Creek Nutrition in Denver. Or start your own diet support group, choosing dependable friends who actually have time to offer weight loss help and won’t let you get away with making excuses. A group of three or four friends can keep you firmly on the fitness wagon even when one member can’t show up. Designate a leader, set a plan of attack and be sure to let your supporters know exactly what you need most from them, whether it’s gentle encouragement or the toughest of love.

Weight loss type 2: The serial snacker

You’re a stay-at-home mom, an account manager on the road or part of an office team of estrogen-charged women. You’re in need of a little weight loss help because of your snacking style. Perhaps you don’t like to cook, and with the kids, the husband, and the deadlines, who has time for three squares a day anyway? Your typical snacks consist of toast, peanut butter, chocolate, cookies, cereal, and when you’re feeling extra virtuous, yogurt, bananas, or baby carrots. When you do find yourself cooking a true meal, you’re usually too full from taste testing to enjoy regular-sized portions and the balance of healthy proteins, complex carbohydrates, and fats that they provide ― until snack time comes around, of course, when it seems easier to unwrap a granola bar than heat up a plate of leftover veggies.

Your ideal diet plan. Serial snackers tend to eat out of habit, not hunger, says Brian Wansink, PhD, author of Mindless Eating and director of the Cornell University Food and Brand Lab in Ithaca, New York. And they choose whatever is most accessible. Their weight loss solution? Put healthy foods like fruit, vegetables, and whole grains in prominent positions, and hide cinnamon rolls and brownies in opaque containers in the deepest dungeons of your cupboards. Try chewing gum or long-lasting mints as a distraction from eating snacks

Keep extra bottles or tumblers of water handy to replace some of those habitual snacks and to stay well-hydrated. And never bring an entire package of food to the couch or desk with you. You’ll completely lose track of how much you’ve eaten, and before you know it, you’ll have polished off the whole thing. Wansink tells WebMD it’s better to take a portion that’s smaller than what you think you’ll need and serve it on a pretty plate.

Weight loss type 3: The free spirit

You refuse to eat anything “lite” just because someone tells you it’s lower in calories. You have better things to do than count calories, carbs or grams of fat, and you’re too rebellious to follow a step-by-step chart outlining what to eat at each meal. You take your work, social life, and family seriously, but have no desire to devote mounds of effort to something as mundane as food. Weight loss for you will have to be simple and natural, with few rules – and always open to change.

Your ideal diet plan. The free spirit doesn’t want to work hard on a weight loss plan and isn’t interested in a complete overhaul of the way she eats, says Seth Roberts, PhD, an associate professor of psychology at the University of California at Berkeley. She won’t say “no” to so-called sinful foods, and would rather make simple, small changes to her weight loss plan than take away entire food groups.

One risk: This type of dieter can find herself gorging on huge servings of chocolate cake instead of savoring one small piece, Roberts tells WebMD. The free spirit’s approach to dieting is essentially a non-diet, agrees Farrell. If this sounds like you, focus on eating slowly and mindfully. Rate your hunger before and during each meal, so you won’t allow yourself to become too hungry or too full.

Weight loss type 4: The sweet tooth

You’ve got a sweet tooth, and everyone from your husband, to your daughter, to your aunt who bakes your favorite Mississippi mud pie every Easter knows it. Some days the label gets old, but the truth is, if you’re a sweet tooth dieter, you’d never turn down brownies for banana chips, and you’ve seldom met a piece of chocolate you didn’t like. Combine a sweet tooth dieter with a serial snacker, and you’ve got double trouble on your hands.

Your ideal diet plan. You need to plan your indulgences carefully, says Elisa Zied, MS, RD, CDN, a certified dietitian and nutritionist in private practice in New York and co-author of Feed Your Family Right!. Instead of wasting calories on whatever’s lying around your home or office (your kids’ Halloween stash or those tasteless holiday cookies), identify the sweet treats you love the most and plan how much of each one you’re going to enjoy when, she says. Triple chocolate chunk brownies taste so much better when you buy them – one at a time – from the local bakery and savor them bite by bite. Then, the only way to eat more is to make another trip to the store (the walk could do you good).

Eat a few high-quality sweets, and soon those mounds of imitation goodies you used to call delicious will be a calorie-laden thing of the past. If there’s a food you simply must eat if it’s around, Zeid says, resist the urge to buy it. And add plenty of fresh fruit into your diet plan. Peaches, strawberries, and bananas can appease your sweet tooth while providing you with fiber and key nutrients, she says. For extra sweetness, try dipping fruit in low-fat pudding or yogurt.

Weight loss type 5: The distracted diner

Multitasking may be a busy woman’s best time-saver, but it sure isn’t good for your health or your waistline. If you tend to do at least two or three things at once – and one of them is often snacking – you’re likely a distracted diner with little clue about how much you’re really eating. Whether it’s the dashboard or the desktop that keeps you from paying full attention while you eat, you’ll find your best weight loss help can come from simply slowing down.

Your ideal diet plan. Prepare your snacks and meals mindfully, Wansink says. Think mini-meals, such as half a sandwich and a handful of baby carrots, and avoid snack foods like chips and cookies. It’s too easy to down the entire bag while you’re distracted. Choose foods that are easy to eat and difficult to spill on the run, like pre-sliced apples and grapes with the stems already removed. For grains, try whole-wheat pretzel sticks, whole-grain crackers, or dry cereals like Mini-Wheats.

Weight loss type 5: The distracted diner continued…

As for fast food, if you’re always on the road, make yourself a deal. Tell yourself there’s a cost involved, says Wansink, and you can eat fast food, but not while you drive. Instead, pull over and eat it in a parking lot. A distracted diner, usually too distracted while eating to notice, may never realize how much she actually dislikes the taste of fast food until she adds this trick to her weight loss plan.

If you want to transition from harried dining and tend to eat alone, try replacing mealtime distractions such as work, television or household chores with a light book or magazine. You may find you eat more slowly when your mind is focused on less anxious, time-pressured tasks.

    Your personality, your diet plan

The real goal isn’t to find a diet that works for you, Sanders tells WebMD. It’s to find a way of eating that you enjoy, and which allows you to lose excess weight and keep it off. You may need to reassess your diet plan over time as your age and lifestyle change. But the only way to get that perfect fit is to find the diet plan that works with you and your personality right now. Bon appetit!

  • Avocado: Health Benefits and Nutritional Facts

Everyone knows now that avocado is good for you. It nutritious and healthy. But if you want to know more – we found some good info about avocado:

Avocado Health Facts: 6 Things You Didn’t Know

You know they make a killer eggocado and are beloved among guacamole aficionados. You might also know you can feel good eating one, thanks to healthy fats and loads of nutrients. But the mighty powers of the avocado stretch farther than you probably realize.

An Avocado Is A Fruit, And More Specifically A Berry
    avocado half
You might be inclined to call it a vegetable, thanks to its green hue and savory taste, but the avocado is technically a fruit, and even more specifically, a single-seeded berry. A fruit is “the matured ovary of a flower,” according to University of California Agriculture & Natural Resources. Fruits consist of a tough outer layer (the skin or rind), a middle layer we typically think of as the flesh of the fruit and a casing around a seed (or seeds). Avocado is further classified as a fleshy as opposed to a dry fruit, and a berry rather than a drupe, which has tough pits or stones, like peaches.

An Avocado Has More Potassium Than A Banana
A single avocado has 975 milligrams of potassium, while a banana, well-known for being loaded with potassium, delivers just half that, with 487 milligrams per large fruit.

They’ll Ripen More Quickly With A Banana Or An Apple Around
Speaking of bananas! The yellow fruit — as well as apples — release ethylene gas, a naturally-occurring plant hormone. If you store your unripe avocados in a brown bag with an apple or a banana, the gases trapped in the bag will help those green guys ripen more speedily, according to The Haas Avocado Board.

Avocados Are One Of A Few High-Protein Fruits
    avocado slices
One avocado packs four grams of protein, among the highest amount coming from a fruit.

And it’s good-quality protein to boot. While they don’t contain every single amino acid required in the body’s protein-building process, they do have all 18 of the important ones, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. Plus, all of that protein is available for the body to use, while some of the protein you might get from meat sources is not.

You Can Swap Them Into Baked Goods Recipes For Butter
The creamy texture and healthy fats make for a surprisingly-easy baking substitution. And no, you won’t be making green muffins. In the right ratios, you can ditch some butter and replace with avocado for healthier chocolate chip cookies, banana bread and brownies, thanks to these tasty avocado recipes compiled by our friends at POPSUGAR Fitness.

You Don’t Have To Eat Them To Reap Their Benefits
Nutritional perks aside, avocados can play a key role in your healthy hair and skin routine. The antioxidants, amino acids and essential oils inside an avocado can help repair damaged hair, moisturize dry skin, treat sunburns and maybe even minimize wrinkles, HuffPost Style reported.

Tried ‘em all, June 21, 2012
    By Ghandia

Gave this a 3 star because the price went up on this item to 24.99. Used one bottle already which was a 30 day supply. Tried different extracts since I heard about this a couple months ago. This is the only one that didn’t upset my sensitive stomach and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Just make sure you take it twice a day and on an empty stomach for maximum effectiveness.

Would have given it a 5 star because of its effectiveness, but didn’t like that the price for a single bottle went up to 24.99. Hope you have the same success as us!!

Like many others I learned about green coffee extract on Dr. Oz with dietitian Lindsay Duncan. Decided to try it when I read that although only one small study study was completed, it was with humans. When I saw this blend with raspberry ketones (studies with animals only) I thought I would try it. I have been dieting for 6-8 weeks (WW) and have had anemic results of half pound to one pound a week while working out like a fiend 3-5 times week. I have not been taking this supplement for a full week yet and have lost 3 pounds! I WILL be ordering this again!!! I know that not everyone will get results (I’ve tried other supplements) but I am getting results. BTW…it hasn’t done anything for cravings, portion control etc…just some good fat burning. The original study was for 12 weeks. I am not sure if that means one should only use it for 12 weeks but will most likely be taking a break after 12 weeks. If anyone sees results from additional studies I would appreciate a heads up.

No loss of weight, July 8, 2013

This last review is quite negative, but in my opinion 2 weeks is not a proper time for giving up – your body needs time to adjust to new product and start to loose weight. Anyway some people keep saying that this product is not for everyone – for some people it works great, other do not get results at all.

  • What Is Raspberry Ketone and Its Natural Origins?

We will start our research from question “What is  Raspberry Ketone?” We will find out if it is a natural product and where it comes from and what it do to your body. If you are interested, please read on…

What is it? Raspberry ketone is the natural phenolic compound found in red raspberries (Rubus idaeus). In simple terms, this chemical compound gives berries their signature scent. Until recently, raspberry ketones were used primarily by the perfume and manufactured food industries, but now the compound is being sold in supplement form.

Raspberry ketones have been touted as the next weight-loss miracle drug, with manufacturers claiming that the ketones help your body break down fat more efficiently, helping you to lose more weight. Is it true?

Before you run to the pharmacy to pick up a bottle, at least finish reading this blog. What I’m about to share with you might surprise (or downright shock) you!

    Source: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/becky-hand/raspberry-ketones_b_2727943.html.

And now some info from our will known doctor:

    What is raspberry ketone?
Raspberry ketone is an aromatic component present in raspberries and other fruits. It can also be produced synthetically in a lab.
Why has raspberry ketone been targeted for weight loss?
Scientists had previously shown that pungent compounds with similar chemical structures, such as capsaicin and synephrine, had lipolytic activity – causing fat breakdown – in rats fed a high-fat diet and in in vitro fat cells.
What did scientists do in the lab?
In one experiment, to test the effect on obesity, mice were fed a high-fat diet plus raspberry ketone for about 10 weeks. Other experiments were carried out in vitro (in test tubes, petri dishes, etc.).
What did scientists learn about fat cells?
Researchers observed that, compared to controls, raspberry ketone decreased the amount of fat in the liver and visceral adipose (abdominal fat) tissues of mice. It also significantly increased norepinephrine-induced lipolysis (the decomposition of fat) in some rat fat cells.
Researchers also tested in vitro fat cells with raspberry ketone and found that they showed greater evidence of breakdown when compared to controls.
What did scientists find out about the relationship between raspberry ketone and adiponectin?
Adiponectin is a protein used by the body to regulate metabolism. Higher levels are associated with fewer fat stores. Scientists studied the effects of raspberry ketones on in vitro fat cells and observed a higher secretion of adiponectin when compared to controls.

    What did scientists conclude?
They concluded that raspberry ketone prevents and improves obesity and fatty liver in certain animal models. While the exact mechanism has not been thoroughly understood, these effects appear to stem from the action of raspberry ketone in altering the lipid metabolism, or more specifically, in increasing norepinephrine-induced lipolysis in white adipocytes (fat cells).
Scientists speculate that raspberry ketone stimulates the energy metabolism via a mechanism similar to that of capsaicin. Capsaicin, a compound found in chili peppers, has been looked at in humans for weight loss.

In another study, the effect of raspberry ketone on energy metabolism was examined by measuring metabolic markers in brown fat tissue, a special kind of fat that generates heat in a process called thermogenesis. These results reportedly indicate that raspberry ketone activates the brown fat thermogenesis and enhances energy metabolism. In any case, more detailed studies are called for to determine a mechanism for raspberry ketone.

What do the animal data on raspberry ketone mean for humans?

Mice and rats are the most widely used animal models in biomedical research. It is important to note that besides being non-human mammals, these animals are housed under standard laboratory conditions, and the use of overweight and unstimulated animals as standard controls may bias the measured experimental outcomes.
Animal models and test tube experiments are important parts of scientific discovery and innovation, especially at early stages. Positive early results in the lab can be promising, but these do not always mean the same outcomes will occur in humans.

    Source: http://www.doctoroz.com/videos/rasberry-ketone-what-science-says

But other sources do not agree with it, they say that this product wasn’t been tasted and do nothing for weight loss:

If you watch TV, read magazines, listen to the radio, or even glance at the Internet, you’re going to be bombarded by ads and other promotional listings for raspberry ketone, the new “miracle fat-burner in a bottle” ingredient that is promoted to melt away flab while you change absolutely nothing else in our life.

There’s just one little problem: Raspberry ketone shows absolutely no efficacy for weight loss, and there isn’t even one tiny little study demonstrating that anybody ever lost weight taking raspberry ketone.

A natural antioxidant compound found in raspberries, blackberries, cranberries, peaches, grapes, apples and other plants, raspberry ketone has become the rage for dieters despite vapor-thin science conducted in test tubes using rodents. Also known as rheosmin, raspberry ketone has been used as a flavoring agent for almost 90 years. In the cosmetic sector it is an expensive fragrance

Most of the diet buzz surrounding raspberry ketone centers around one mouse study conducted in Japan, and a rat study conducted in Korea. In the Japanese mouse study, mice given a high fat diet and raspberry ketone did not become obese. The study results were reported in February 2005 in the journal Life Sciences. The Korean rat study was reported in the journal Planta Medica in April 2010. In male rats, administration of high doses of raspberry ketone prevented an increase in body weight when the rats were fed a high fat diet.

To start, mice and rats are not human beings. While rodents are often used as precursors to human studies, we only share approximately 85 percent of the same DNA as mice – but we also do not share 15 percent. The mice and rats in the two studies lived in cages, not in the real world. And the rodents were fed controlled diets. They had no access to fast foods, pizza, ice cream or fat-producing snacks. They could not get up in the middle of the night to raid the refrigerator. In other words, there is no valid connection of any sort between these two rodent studies and your likelihood of losing weight.

According to proponents, raspberry ketone supposedly helps to enhance activity of the human hormone adiponectin, which plays a role in regulating blood glucose and body weight. Adiponectin works in the body to modify blood glucose and insulin. So it sounds as though raspberry ketone would be a weight loss aid, right? However, to date there is not even one human study demonstrating any weight loss at all as a result of consuming raspberry ketone.

Marketers of raspberry ketone rely on the rapid repetition of pseudo-science to create the impression that using this agent for weight loss is valid. Since many people do not understand that much about human biochemistry, the pseudo-science that is spouted for this product can sound impressive – but proceed with caution. People may buy a couple of bottles of raspberry ketone, take the product, fail to lose weight, and move on to the next illegitimate diet craze.

As obesity rates soar in the U.S. and more people become desperate for help to lose weight, we will continue to see an endless number of diet crazes, most based on agents that do not actually work or perform so marginally that no significant weight reduction can be achieved. The science of weight loss is very well established. Reduce calories, eat “cleaner” types of unprocessed foods, exercise regularly to burn calories, and you can ultimately lose weight steadily. Fail to engage in these fundamentals, and nothing happens. The raspberry ketone craze preys upon people’s trust, grossly under-delivering in return.

Still we have some reviews which clam that Raspberry Ketone works and they have good results:

Super product, it really works., April 6, 2013

This review is from: Raspberry Ketones Liquid – All-Natural Diet Drops For Weight Loss Proven To Work For All Body Types. 98% Absorption, 3 Times Faster Than Capsules. Includes Full 30-Day Supply (Health and Beauty)

Even though Dr. Oz raved about raspberry ketones calling them a “a fat loss miracle” I was skeptical. Not that I watch his show much. Nor do I buy everything he recommends on a weekly basis. I decided to give this a try. My husband helped me search online and we found all kinds of special deals from websites with bikini models and shady companies offering a free bottle. That’s why I decided to go straight to Amazon because I always have a good experience here from trusted companies. Even on Amazon though, I had to sort through all the questionable reviews from people claiming they lost 20 lbs in one week. I finally found this company (Feeling 10) that seemed legitimate. That’s why I decided to take the plunge, order a bottle and received it over two weeks ago. Dr. Oz recommended taking it on an empty stomach 30 minutes before a meal, twice a day. That is exactly what I did. I am on the road a lot with my job and my eating schedule is often while driving, so this proved to be more challenging than I thought. After the first day or two I wasn’t that impressed because I didn’t feel any different. But after that second day I began to notice that I was not snacking as much as before. Plus, I wasn’t getting the usual energy crash between 2:00 and 3:00 like I usually do. It’s really been working for me. I have lost 5 lbs in just two weeks with no major changes to my diet either. I am impressed with the results and have already recommended this product to my sister and a few friends.

  • Natural Garcinia Cambogia: Origin and Cultivation

Lets have a look at Garcinia Cambogia nature: where it comes from, what is it and is it natural product or not?

    Cultivation

    Assam-fruit-1-1.jpg

Garcinia gummi-gutta is grown for its fruit in southeast Asia, coastal Karnataka/Kerala, India, and west and central Africa. It thrives in most moist forests.

Garcinia gummi-gutta is one of several closely related Garcinia species from the plant family Guttiferae.[3] With thin skin and deep vertical lobes, the fruit of G. gummi-gutta and related species range from about the size of an orange to that of a grapefruit; G. gummi-gutta looks more like a small yellowish, greenish or sometimes reddish pumpkin.[4] The color can vary considerably. When the rinds are dried and cured in preparation for storage and extraction, they are dark brown or black in color.

Along the west coast of South India, G. gummi-gutta is popularly termed “Malabar tamarind,” and shares culinary uses with the tamarind (Tamarindus indica). The latter is a small and the former a quite large evergreen tree. G. gummi-gutta is also called “goraka” or, in some areas, simply “kattcha puli” (souring fruit).

    Uses

    Cooking

Garcinia gummi-gutta is used in cooking, including in the preparation of curries. The fruit rind and extracts of Garcinia species are called for in many traditional recipes,[5] and various species of Garcinia are used similarly in food preparation in Assam (India), Thailand, Malaysia, Burma and other Southeast Asian countries. In the Indian Ayurvedic medicine, “sour” flavors are said to activate digestion. The extract and rind of Garcinia gummi-gutta is a curry condiment in India.[citation needed][dubious – discuss] It is an essential souring ingredient in the Southern Thai variant of kaeng som, a sour curry.[citation needed]

Garcinia gummi-gutta is employed commercially in fish curing, especially in Sri Lanka (Colombo curing) and South India, which makes use of the antibacterial qualities of the fruit.[citation needed]

The trees can be found in forested areas and also are protected in plantations otherwise given over to pepper, spice, and coffee production.

    Traditional medicine

Aside from its use in food preparation and preservation, extracts of G. gummi-gutta are sometimes used in traditional medicine as purgatives.[citation needed]

    Weight loss

In late 2012, a United States television personality, Dr. Oz, promoted Garcinia cambogia extract as a “magic” weight-loss aid. Dr. Oz’s previous endorsements have often led to a substantial increase in consumer interest in the promoted products. However, clinical trials do not support claims that Garcinia cambogia is an effective weight-loss aid.[6] A meta-analysis found a possible small, short-term weight loss effect (under 1 kilogram).[7] However, side effects—namely hepatotoxicity—led to one preparation being withdrawn from the market.[8]

A 1998 randomized controlled trial looked at the effects of hydroxycitric acid, the purported active component in Garcinia gummi-gutta, as a potential antiobesity agent in 135 people. The conclusion from this trial was that “Garcinia cambogia failed to produce significant weight loss and fat mass loss beyond that observed with placebo”.[9]

Scientific Name(s): Garcinia cambogia(Gaertn.) Desr. Family: Clusiaceae (Guttiferae)

Common Name(s): Malabar tamarind , hydroxycitric acid ( HCA )

    Uses of Garcinia (hydroxycitric acid)

The medical literature primarily documents weight loss and lipid-lowering activity for the plant. However, trials supporting its use are limited.

    Garcinia (hydroxycitric acid) Dosing

The dosages of G. cambogia extract in clinical trials ranged from 1,500 to 4,667 mg/day (25 to 78 mg/kg/day). The equivalent hydroxycitric acid (HCA) dose in the trials ranged from 900 to 2,800 mg/day (15 to 47 mg/kg/day). G. cambogia is available in capsule or tablet form with a maximum dose of 1,500 mg/day.

    Contraindications

Avoid use if there is a known allergy or hypersensitivity to any components of G. cambogia .

    Pregnancy/Lactation

Information regarding safety and efficacy in pregnancy and lactation is lacking.

    Garcinia (hydroxycitric acid) Interactions

The herb has documented drug interactions.

    Garcinia (hydroxycitric acid) Adverse Reactions

At least 15 clinical studies involving approximately 900 patients document very mild adverse reactions. Most adverse reactions included headache, dizziness, dry mouth, and GI complaints such as nausea and diarrhea.

Here we can see that there is not enough data to prouve Garcinia Cambogia’s effectiveness, still many people clam that they loose weight taking it.

  • Natural Raspberry Ketones and Their Role in Supporting Weight Loss

    Source: http://www.sbwire.com/press-releases/raspberry-ketones-reviews-the-real-truth-exposed-187071.htm.

Learn about more ways to fit in exercise.

So we found that that people use Raspberry Ketone and quite a big amount of people clam that they loose weight using it but still experts say that there wasn’t enough tests done to prove effectiveness of it.

And if it works one question we can ask: how does it work?

One of the reasons why I decided to use raspberry ketones for weight loss was because of the Raspberry Ketone Results my friend Mike had achieved. Surprisingly, I’m not the only one who was attracted to the weight loss benefits provided by raspberry ketones. While conducting my research for this Raspberry Ketone Review, I discovered that there are also hundreds of people like me who had been struggling with obesity and overweight for years but managed to achieve their weight loss goals thanks to the fat burning traits of raspberry ketones.

But how do raspberry ketones help in weight loss? Listed below are different ways through which raspberry ketones can help you to achieve your weight loss goals:

    1. Raspberry Ketones Function in Accelerating Your Metabolism

In a layman’s term, metabolism is the speed at which your body burns calories. In order to shed excess weight, your body needs to burn more calories than it is consuming. The calorie deficit created as a result of burning more calories than the body is consuming is what causes you to lose weight.

For years, weight loss experts have preached that the only way to achieve calorie deficit is by exercising. However, this theory has been contradicted by new findings which show that it is quite possible for an individual to accelerate his or her metabolism naturally by making use of supplements such as raspberry ketones.

The fact that I’m able to burn excess calories even when I’m sleeping, reading or using the computer is the main reason why I will recommend raspberry ketone supplements to you. So, Does Raspberry Ketone Work? The answer is an absolute yes.

    2. Enhance the Fat Burning Process

Everybody’s dream is to put on six packs as well as a beach body. In addition to accelerating your metabolism, raspberry also function in improving the ability of the body to burn more fat as a source of energy. This is achieved by activating a process referred to as lipolysis. Lipolysis is a process through which body fat is broken down into small and manageable molecules so that the body can utilize them as sources of energy.

Normal fat burning is a strenuous process which requires a number scenarios before the fat burning process can start. For instance, in order for the body to start burning excess fat while walking or jogging, you need to walk or jog for at least 10 to 20 minutes before the body can start burning fat. However, the same cannot be said of raspberry ketones. The raspberry ketone supplements are known for forcing the breakdown of fatty cells thereby encouraging the body to utilize them as sources of energy.

So Raspberry Ketones are boosting your metabolism and help burning fat and it gives you big fat loss effect.

    How Raspberry Ketone works

To simplify things up and really help you understand how this marvelous weight loss supplement works you need to have knowledge of its active ingredients. Just as the name suggests, Raspberry Ketone weight loss supplement has Raspberry Ketone as its main ingredient, however, it is the phenolic compounds present in the Raspberry Ketone that have high antioxidant properties and work perfect in helping the body burn fat much faster. This are the same compounds present in chili and capsicum hence their ability to boost body metabolism.

On the other hand, your body produces hormones known as adinopectin which regulates and controls the levels of glucose and fats in your body. The bigger or more weighty you get the lesser levels of this hormone gets produced in your body. With lesser amounts of adinopectin, your body stores more fat and the rate of metabolism lowers. However, Raspberry Ketone is able to trick your body in to producing more of this hormone hence boosting your metabolism and facilitating weight loss.

“So if the raspberries do all the magic why not eat them instead.” you might be thinking. It is possible to boost your weight loss by eating Raspberries but this would require you to eat a minimum of 90 pounds a day! Instead, you could pop a single 200 gram Raspberry Ketone capsule and get the same thing, get the gist?

But some people concern that tests was made only on mice so far. Anyway this product made from berries, natural product, and I think it won’t hurt to try it.

Raspberry ketone is an aromatic compound found in red raspberries. It’s extracted and used in perfumes and cosmetics and it’s also used as a flavoring agent in some fruit-flavored foods. Apparently it’s now being touted as a semi-magical weight loss aid. But does it work? Who knows – I can’t find any clinical studies for raspberry ketone and weight loss.

There are some studies on mice that were given raspberry ketone and it appeared to prevent weight gain when the little rodents were fed high-fat diets. Apparently the anti-obesity effects were due to stimulation of lipolysis (which is how the body breaks down fat in fat cells called adipocytes) in both regular fat tissue and brown fat tissue. It also suppressed release of pancreatic lipase, a digestive enzyme needed to break down dietary fats so they can be absorbed through the small intestinal wall.

But this research was done on mice. We’re humans, not rodents. We have different physiology and different emotional reasons for eating (or not eating) fats and other foods. So just because mice didn’t get fat while being given raspberry ketone doesn’t mean it will work the same way in humans. To know if raspberry ketone can work in humans requires clinical research and I can’t find any research on people.

So will it hurt you to take raspberry ketone supplements? Probably not. Will it help you lose weight? I don’t know, but I doubt it. More than likely it will just make your wallet a little lighter.
